Has anyone experienced sore/tight calves or developed Achilles pain from boots? If so what has helped you?

I prefer the fit of taller boots (have issues with heal slip in shorter boots). Two years ago I noticed my calves would get tight when wearing my lace up hunting boots. Not a huge problem. This past year I developed severe pain in my right Achilles tendon. I could run no issue/walk, but the if I put boots on after a couple miles it hurt like hell (stay sore for days). It has healed up since then (no running or rucking). I still get slight pain in my Achilles in my lace up boots, but I’m usually only walking short distances.

Footbeds, stretching and blood flow to the area works wonders. Might want to see a specialist if that doesn't help.

I really increased my stretching this year, once my Achilles pain started, but it’s not like I wasn’t stretching before that!

I have used the same style of boots/shoes for years now. I can run 3 miles 5 days a week with no issue, but a few miles with boots on and I start to get sore. Has been tolerable in the past, but the Achilles pain is a new issue.

Really hoping someone else has some experience that can chime in.

If stretching isn't helping you may need to see an Orthopedic doctor that specializes in Achilles issues. You may have Achilles tendonitis.
