Calling all 243 owners!

Wasn't concerned about barrel life, if I was I'd have built a different cartridge! Moreso just curiosity lol. I'm liking how this 25 is shooting. May see another in the future.
My bad… it seems like so many people want performance, then get fearful of barrel life.
Anytime your curiosity wants information on short barrel performance, just let me know😎

I have a remington 1:9 or 1:10 and it doesnt like long skinny bullets. Short and stubby for it.

Looked at the stability charts and they all said to get a faster twist for longer bullets.

That 1:8 is the way to go for what you want.

Do you typically find a faster burn rate powder gets better velocities with a shorter barrel or no? IE h1000 vs h4831sc in a prc with a short barrel and 133 or 140s?

Thank you for all that info...I did a quick pressure test with h1000 and h4831sc the other day. To be honest the results puzzled me a bit, I hit pressure really early with h4831sc and just barely had the smallest amount of primer flattening with h1000 at my highest load. What are your thoughts on this?

Had the brass been fireformed when you were using H-4831 or was it the first time shooting it/using it?
How far back did you bump the shoulder?

With my 25-284, I may start with H-4350.
#2 H-4831
#3 H-1000
It will be the first time for me, when I load for the 25-284.
25 Creed with 110 AB's, I use H-4350.
Time will tell.
