With the intent to do more things with less things, I wanted an easy method to mount a pair of binos to either a tripod/monopod. This is what I did. Stupid cheap and stupid simple. Like me.

I then took a 1 1/2” screw eye and threaded it into the v-yoke on my monopod

Bolt on the binosis inserts into the eye and straddles the yoke. Add a bit of shock chord to lock it down and that’s it. Stupid cheap, stupid simple, and stupid practical.

Love the ingenuinty. So is it working as a monopod? Do you find that does enough to reduce shakiness vs a full tripod?

This particular monopod has one of those short, three-legged bases that fold upwards alongside the main tube. I've had no issues as far as stability or shakiness. It's perfect for sitting and glassing. And just as easy to shoot from when sitting or kneeling. I prefer it over a tripod. Less adjustment needed to get it set just right.

Which monopod are you using?

I’m running this one. With the yoke it’s about 2lbs. I haven’t had it long enough to attest to its durability.
