CO or ID- first bear hunt.

I'm hoping to get to go on my first bear hunt this spring. I'm in the air on weather I'd like to do Idaho or Colorado. I'd like to do a DIY public land rifle hunt. If you had the choice, which state would you choose?

Sorry man, but there is no spring bear hunting in Colorado, it was banned back in 1992. It would be awesome if they reversed it, since there’s nothing but turkey to hunt in the spring here.

Looks like Idaho for spring and Colorado for a later option! Hahaha! Makes my decision easier, I'll do both!

FWIW, Wyoming has a spring season.

It’s been 10 years ago but I hunted spring bears around McCall, ID and it was a great hunt. Good luck with your choice!!
