Colorado Archery Gunnison

I drew an archery tag for the unit that surrounds lake city.
This year the tags are double what they have been a few years ago. 80 vs 40.
Seems like it might be a little crowded, not compared to other units of course.

I’ve archery hunted the good unit to the northeast twice in the last few years and never felt crowded.
Hopefully this increase won’t have people on top of each other but I have my doubts.
Still not sure why they increased tags, this year especially, but it allowed me to get a tag.

I’ll be in the gunnison basin pretty much all of September. My sons have a muzzle loader deer tag and an archery elk tag in the surrounding units.

Thanks. I’ll be there late July to check it out. Then again in late August to try to find one like this.

This deer was from a few years ago. In a different unit.

That is huge country, you will not get crowded with 80 tags. Should be able to find deer without anyone else on the same bucks, I hope your getting in shape, that air gets a little thin up there. Good luck on your hunt !!
