Can anyone give me some options to pass along to a friend for a Colorado Cow elk, rifle hunt? He'd need a guide of some sort, etc but he is really interested in getting some elk meat and I can't think of an easier way. He's in CO Springs, if that helps.

Thanks for your help.

If he's got money to spend then yeah finding a trespass hunt might be best for success (no experience with it).

If he just needs a bit of pointing and not actual hand holding some of the RFW hunts can be drawn at zero points and while not a slam dunk they have better odds than general 0pt draw tags. This assumes he is a CO resident (required for RFW hunts). In 2015 draw there were 8 RFW hunt codes that went to 2nd choice, which means they were a sure draw at 0pt. Those ranches report 25-50% success rates on cows.

You get mixed reports on RFW hunts, some expect it to be guided and they aren't usually, some want to hunt like private land and they want you not to roam too much (spread out pressure), etc. The nicer ones don't draw at 0pt.
