Difference Bowtech Carbon Icon and Blackout S3 (or Toxik)?

Looking for some insight on the functional difference between the Bowtech Carbon Icon and say the Cabela's Blackout S3 or Toxik? Looking at getting my son-in-law into archery, and don't want to break the bank, but also don't want to get him something that is sub-par. Seems that I can get a used Carbon Icon on RS for about the same as a "package" of the Toxik or S3 from Cabela's/Bass Pro. I know Blackout is made by Bowtech (Diamond?) but can really find any practical info to compare.

Any firsthand input on the differences, or the Blackouts is appreciated.
