DIY 16p+ Tipi or Bell tent

Has anyone made a really large Tipi or Bell-style tent? Something similar to the Seek Outside 16p Tipi, or a Yukon Bell tent.
Could a bell tent be made out of similar material as the SO like a silnylon?
I'm wondering what the material cost would be for such a project.

Mine isnt as big as a 16 man. It is probably an 8 or so. But all that changes is the size of the pieces. I made mine out of 2nds fabric off ebay. PU ripstop. I think it is 1.1 or 1.3 oz material. I probably have less than $100 in it.

I looked into making my own shelters, but with ripstop prices I wasn’t able to justify the amount of work for the savings.
The best way to get a pattern is to build the shelter using sketchup. They have a free version and it’s easy to use.
