Do Bleat (and other) calls actually work?

ive had a little bit of luck grunting but only when the bucks are really cruising and active...if they are just milling around feeding then no and not so much bleating or rattling at all

My first year hunting and I used grunts a few times on bucks and does that were walking through. Mostly just got ignored or a head turned and moved on. The one doe I got, I was using the can and rattling, though I’m not sure that’s what brought them in.

Bleat can is my go to. I’ve just never had consistent success rattling or grunting
