double wide pad in kuiu storm king

I am considering getting a 50 inch wide sleeping pad for two for back packing. The thing is I would occasionally want to use it in my kuiu storm king tent which is only 48-46 inches at its narrowest. I just want to ask if anyone has tried it? The tent is like 82 inches long and the pad is in the 70s scooting the pad all the way against the head of the tent may do the trick. I dunno...
