I’m taking my first western hunting trip this Fall. We’re doing archery Antelope in South Dakota during August. I want clothing that will be light and breathable, but quiet enough for spot and stalk. Ideally, I will be able to use these clothes during September for Mule Deer or Elk as well. I have the Sitka Apex pants and hoody that I wear during Spring Turkey. I really like them, but I feel like they can get too hot on those warm afternoons. Would it help if I wore a really lightweight base layer under the pants to keep the fleece off my skin? Thinking about the new Kuiu Gilas Hoody to wear as a top and then could throw on the Apex hoody when needed. Thoughts? Should I look into the Traverse or Mountain Pants? It sounds like the Ascent line would be too noisy and may be a little light for September. I don’t love the Apex hoody so would be open to an alternative. Thanks!
