Elk Hides Hair on

How well have your tanned elk hides with the hair on held up over the years?

I've got one from 5 years ago that needs to find a new place since it doesn't jive with the new couch.

I'm reluctant to use it as a floor rug, and wall space is at a premium.

Single level home so no stair bannister to hang it over either....

Open to new ideas....

They all get dry, and brittle and start shedding, and end up on Ebay for a fraction of they cost to get tanned.

I made a buckskin and ended up placing it under the TV on the stand. My dad has a hair-on Elk hide that he drapes over the bed in their spare room. A couple ideas, hope this helps.

Thats a good idea since it's not a place that gets messed with or moved ever - but still plenty visible.
