never been mad i carried a bigger pack. I still use a seek peregrine for all my hunting that is 60ish liters for about 4 years. my partner has a metcalf. I’ve done 5-6 day trips with it but you gotta have the gear and know how to do it. For winter hunts with stripping and adding glassing layers, emergency gear, extra water etc i am always happy to have a little more space. Good breakaway bags that are waterproof are also invaluable.

Frames, particularly tubular aluminum ones, squeak if they get used hard and dirty. Its really easy to clean them out and add a drop of liquid grease that solves all the problems. If thats the reason you won’t buy a pack i think that’s pretty dumb.
