FNG (and son) in OK

Newbie here. Been lurking on this forum for about 6 months and it never occurred to me to make an account.

Grew up without a dad or siblings and traveled (military) u til i was 17. Finally settled down after college, raised my boy and just went out with a family friend to take my son on his first hunt ever this winter.

He loved it (didn't do the shooting, but helped field dress and drag back to camp). So now he has a 243 Win and I've got a 7mm-08, and we are diving in head first! Only two range sessions so far and a lot of work to go before next deer season, but looking forward to honing our skills and getting some feral hog and yote practice in between now and then.
