I picked up a 500ct box of 240gr smk I was going to just shoot up as subs in my 300blackout.
I decided to shoot some in my 300win mag. They do pretty well
I didn’t do any load work. Checked to see how long they are in my barrel. They touch rifling at 3.619”. I loaded them 10 thousands off. And shot 71/72gr h4831. I was getting 2760fps out of my 26” rifle. I dropped charge to 70gr for a few I’m gonna go try out. The 71/72 both had ejector swipes on them. Not bad. But there.
Looking at Sierra they call 65.8gr their accuracy load. I’m loading up some of that too and see how they do.
My normal load for range use is either 70 or 72.5gr h4831sc and a 190smk. I dropped it to 70gr being I didn’t loose much speed. And it shoots a bit tighter at 100m. Both loads give single digit sd/es. Might as well save on some powder. The top left target pic was 70gr. Two different oal. The bottom set is what I’m running. The top right was the same with 72.5gr

I’d try a little farther away from the lands to see if that tightens things up!
The 190s are at 3.340. The 240s are about 20 thou off the lands. Generally haven’t had to much change in groups with sierras and seating depth. The cold bore shot just about always shoots a little left in my rifle with the 190s. I’ve not shot the 240s closer than 500m lol. I’ll probably get another box of them Friday then I can do a proper load work up
