I had a cellular trail cam stolen last night from private property. Luckily, the camera was recovered today in the nearby town but only because of the onboard cellular connectivity and GPS location. Obviously, if the camera would have been powered off, or batteries/antenna removed, locating the camera would have been virtually impossible. So, all that said, has anybody reconfigured or added GPS passive transmitting capability to their cams? If so how? I briefly thought about placing Apple AirTags inside the device, but not sure that would actually help. It would be nice reassurance if the camera could be locatable in the event of theft....
