Homemade dog box ideas

Looking to save a few bucks and put together a dog box for my beagles. Just looking for some ideas/inspiration from anybody else that has built one, thanks

I’m not sure with the cost of most materials if this is a “save a few bucks” type of project. I’d imagine your going to break even at best especially when most local classified ads usually have them for 30-40$. Most folks building their own are usually custom aluminum jobs and are pretty spendy. You could maybe save money building one out of cheap lumber but a good dog deserves better. Unless you get some good quality wood that won’t splinter (expensive)That being said I’ve seen some really nice ones built out of sheet aluminum and aluminum square tubing. I’ll post pics of mine tomorrow.

Used 1x2s and some plywood to build a couple simple boxes for our hounds. Didn’t have any problems with wood splintering and filled with straw or wood chips to keep them warm.
