I’ve worked my way up to a 45lb recurve and have been shooting Victory VFORCE sport 500 spine arrows.

Someone asked me recently “you’re not going to hunt with those are you?”

Is it a bad idea to hunt with these shafts?

Absolutely not. As long as you build them up to an appropriate weight they'll do just fine. I'd be leery of their motivation for telling you they wouldn't work.

Was it an individual, or a shop, that told you that?

Individual working at a shop
So, as an employee he speaks for the shop. That's bad business. If the arrows are tuned to your setup and performing well then his personal dislike for any brand or piece of equipment needs to stay in his brain housing group. As soon as he opens his mouth and says something like that he is reflecting negatively on his shop and employer. If you like the arrows, if they are tuned to your setup, go hunt and don't worry about what the tech said. It's your bow and your setup and your money. Go have fun with it.
