The LHT would be cool, I wonder if it can fit on a magnum length action without having to have some weird cumbersome mounting system.
Here is a 3-15x42 LHT. It's on a Tikka T3x, which isn't a true long action, but there appears to be ample mounting length.

One of mine rides a LA Kimber, bad pic but long tube offers plenty of room/options.

I have a 23oz optic (zeiss V4) on a 5.5# rifle...I dropped down in weight from the LRTSi to the V4 for this build. I love the v4, but it i wasn't so cheap, i kinda wish i'd ponied up the extra cash for the NXS 2.5-10...my rifle as it sits is 7# unloaded, but it but it's a smidge top heavy with the zeiss...its not an issue, but carrying free hand it does seem a bit "tippy".

Leupy VX6 2-12 - TMOA reticle - Parallax set way out. Pretty OK weight, Very versatile and OK to 800yds
20 MOA rail so you have maintain good spring tension on the reticle (and dont end up at the end of of your adjustment)

A better pic of the LHT on a LA Kimber. One of the easiest scopes to mount based on it’s designed.

Personally I don't like the idea of getting a super-light rifle and putting a 20-30 oz Scope on it. I have a collection Of Leupold 3i's and some Razor 1" scopes that Vortex stopped making for some stupid reason. 1.5-8x and 2-10X for the Razors and 2.5-8X and 3.5-10X for the 3i's 11-14 Oz range. I even have a VariX 2 3-9 with LR reticle on my new Weatherby Back-country Ti. (11 oz) If they still made the Leupold 6x36 with LR reticle I'd buy three of them. I shoot enough to really understand how the reticles work with my load and don't twist. I don't like were new scopes are going...rugged yes, accurate yes but why carry a boat anchor up a mountain?

I normally agree however with this particular rifle it’s probably 6.5lbs without a scope so even with a 20oz scope it would be right around 8lbs. I’ll never own a 30oz scope, I just don’t have a need for it.
