Kuiu factory taped seams

Has anyone felt the need to seam seal the factory taped seams on the upgraded mountain star from Kuiu?

Used one bear hunting this spring in MT and had no issues. Stuck in the tent because of rain and weather for about 7 hours on one of the days and didn’t notice anything.
But a buddy tested his out in the rain and said it leaked around the buckles that connect the to the nest. I think Kuiu sent him a new one but he still ended up putting some seam sealer on.

When you need rain gear you need actual rain gear made out of rubber like Helly Hansons or Grundens.

Most hunting that isn't in SE Alaska, BC or PNW doesn't need real rain gear.

The taped Japanese fabric with Kuiu works really well, but it's not rubberized rain gear.

Just bought one myself, glad to hear on here that it should hold up

Thank for all the responses, i ended his doing it anyway. It’s not going to hurt for sure.
