Mountain Lion Hunt Footwear

I have a Lion hunt booked with Alpha Outfitters in Utah at the beginning of December 2022. I wear a Low Cevedale GTX on all of my mountain hunts but I have never hunted in snow. Would you recommend an insulated boot? I have never worn insulated and would hate to try and break in a new boot by then but if it's worth the extra warmth then I am all in. Thanks!

It really depends on the day. I live and hunt in northern Utah and have used insulated boots as early as October and uninsulated late season. Last year we had plenty of warm days in December. There’s a chance you won’t even be in the snow. Can’t hurt to bring both. If you expect to be moving a lot the uninsulated ones you have will work.

100% waterproof is more important to me than insulated. Need to be light too.
