Just wondering now that some ppl have had the pack a little longer what their thoughts are on it. I'm planning on purchasing the Beartooth 80 as my first "real" load hauling pack and am curious as to what some of the more experienced hunters think about it. Personally I'm looking for a pack that can pull off multiple functions. I do a fair amount of backpack hiking in the off season as well with my family and kids where I end up taking more of the communal load and my older Arcteryx bora 80 is on its last legs. I'm also hoping tho that this beartooth will be able to compress down enough to be a useful daypack (either with the lid on or off).
The fact that mystery ranch doesn't sell "bag only" versions of any of their bigger bags makes me feel that I'm better off to buy the Beartooth first and then if it doesn't work as the daypack I was hoping for that I can at least buy the Pintler or Mule bag only to fill that role.
Anyways any help, advice, or pictures about this pack and its daypack capabilities would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton.
