Not sure why you spend $800+ on an EB bag?

You can get a proven, warmer Western Mountaineering at less cost...

The built in pad sounds great as long as it lasts. I don't think too many inflatable pads are going to last a decade or more like a top quality down bag will. What happens when the pad has leaks or the baffling comes unglued ? Going to dunk your fine down bag to find a leak while out in the field ? If my pad has a slow leak I can find water and find the leak. The combination of the two types of insulation seems like it would work. I'm with jdog , a WM bag still sounds like the best deal to me.

I wouldn't spend the 800 on a bag from a proven company either. I still feel like an a-hole for spending almost 400 on my BA bag and the WM bag I had before that.

I do think the integrated pad is cool but you bring up a good point shrek. I'm not sure what you would do if the pad leaks.
