Wondering your thoughts on buying a rifle? Do you prefer to buy a rifle new in box or used from someone that has some load data?

I never trust anyone else's data. There are too many small things that don't get written down in notes. I see this whenever I load some rounds from my data. If I just loaded them by the numbers without the notes there are things I wouldn't remember to do.

I have no issue buying used but I’d likely redevelop loads if someone provided data with the rifle.

There’s about 5 guys whose load data I trust. If I was buying a rifle from them and they had worked out a load that performed to my liking then I’d rock on with that load and spend the extra money elsewhere.
