Anyone here still playing online poker for real money? I played all the time back in college, but haven't tried playing since they put all the restrictions in place 10+ years ago. I'd like to start playing again if I can find a way to do it legally and not have to worry about sketchy offshore companies when depositing/withdrawing funds. I know the laws will vary by state, but just looking for opinions on sites to play on and safe ways to get the funds online.

I had a good thing going in college too. Helped cover the cost of the college lifestyle.

I'm curious about this too since the closest card room is an hour away.

Listen to the Joe Rogan - Dan Bilzerian podcast, sounds like only math geniuses play online with crazy set ups. Its entertaining anyway

My nefew has basically postponed his lifes carreer due to online poker- its a huge time waster.( almost as bad as these forums/ grin)

All of the $$$ he supposedly makes- where is it? Restrictions on how much you can take out, etc- a racket.

Wasting his lfe away due to an addiction,

I’ve used 5dimes recently. Never done the online poker but I do a lot of sports betting on it. Never any issues getting money. It is a little tricky setting it up at first because it is Europe based I believe and you got to buy bitcoin and then they convert it to US $. It can be pretty fun.

I’d have a hard time with electronic card games besides solitaire.

How they heck do you read a bluff online?

I used to play a lot myself. Poker stars was the site I liked. Haven't done it in years. I run a good home game a couple times a month to scratch the itch. I have kept money separate since I turned 21 so I never spent bill money.

I play a lot lately on pokerrr2 app. We have a group of about 150 guys who play regularly. Not all play of course but there is usually at least one table going a day. The app is just used because you can start a table and share the code with everybody and then each player Venmo’s to a person who is designated the banker.

I've been playing professional poker for more than 8 years and I've made a lot of money in all my time. When I first started, no one believed in me. My parents stopped communicating with me, because I spent a lot of money on the game, my wife and child left me for a man who had a normal job, and I went to my goal to earn a lot and I reached it! If you have a goal in life go to it and never listen to anyone.

Where do you play? Online or in-person?

I believe you can play directly on Bovada. Pros of using Bovada is the deposit/withdrawal system is super smooth and generally quite quick. It's an extremely well known platform (mostly for its sports betting) so you don't have to worry whether its vetted or not. They offer tons of tournaments, different types of poker, and even an option to create a tournament with rules you choose and then it pulls in the number of anonymous players you choose as well(anywhere from 2 - 45 plays I believe).

It was legalized recently here and I'm expecting them to finalize sooner than later due to lost casino revenue

Haven't played online but enjoy playing in person. Never really gamble big amounts though. Online stuff seems sketchy these days.

After watching the 60 minutes segment about it I never lost another dime playing online. Those college kids had it figured out.
