GREAT shot!

Is this a drone shot or from a ridge? The Brooks Range?
Thank you...it's a photo of the Alaska Range taken from a higher elevation, just standing alongside the road that goes back into Denali National Park. During COVID, the NPS expanded lottery opportunities for folks to be able to draw a day permit to drive their vehicles to the end of the road...we drew one. That road is now closed at mile 43 due to a landslide.

The photo below will give you better context...

This is a similar view in the Brooks Range (also taken from alongside the road)...

Drove a cumulative ~14 hours from Chicagoland to rural IL to stare at the sun. Would recommend. Got some wild shots - was not expecting to be able to see solar prominence like that.

Nice shot! What focal length were you shooting at?

I would have left Alaska for it but there didn’t seem to be a guaranteed weather window for it.

Certainly not the best eclipse pictures, but I was satisfied considering the fact that I captured it with my phone! I used my 20-60x80 spotting scope (at 60x), a phone-spotting scope adapter, and a filter made from solar film, cardboard, tape, and paper plates.
