I grabbed this yesterday at the store. I’ve been using reloader 15 (older bottle). Just noticed this has the small 5 next to the 15.

Same thing new label or did I mess up?

It's supposed to be a temp. stable powder that is between Reloder 15 and 16. You might want to check some loading data to see if your loads are safe.

Its not Reloader 15 that much I can tell you.

It's an intermediate powder between reloader 15 and reloader 16. Check the books.

Thanks. Figured. That’s what I get for being in a hurry. Seems like the data is mostly for heavier bullets. Would there be issues with lighter bullets? Gonna try to return it but doubt they will.

Check the Alliant Load Data. It's possible this powder works better for you and Reloder 15. They have load data for everything from 223 to 30-06.

Reloder TS 15.5 Load Data

Thanks! It’s interesting that all their 308 data is for heavier bullets. I’m working on 150 grain loads. Comparing the data for the 15 heavier bullets it looks similar.

Load till the bolt sticks, then back off a grain. Reduce by .3 till you find accuracy.

The RL TS15.5 is going to give you a slower velocity than the RL 15 for a 150gr and anything up to about 170gr. Then RL TS15.5 will start producing faster velocities than RL 15. It will still work with the 150gr, but you'll lose about 50fps, and it takes up more volume in your case.

It’s much slower. I bought two pounds hoping it was just a little slower than 15. It’s much slower. Anyone near Northern VA than could use it let me know. We can skip the hazmat nonsense.

I got an email fro Alliant that basically said they didn’t get acceptable results with lighter bullets.

Good news is it looks like I’ll be able to return it.

Really with they’d have made the packaging a little more different or named it different. Again, totally my fault, but easy mistake to make.
