I posted this in the firearms subforum on Sunday and it seemed to get buried pretty quick, so hopefully someone sees it here and can offer some insight. I also still haven't gotten a response from Franchi yet so the rumors of their slow email communication seem to be true. Thanks again for any insight you guys may have.

I got this Franchi new two weeks ago and have put probably a box of shells through it. Cleaning it after duck hunting this weekend I noticed a small bit of bare metal on the back left end of the bolt body (bottom left in first picture, and top right in second picture). I can't remember if that's how the bolt came or if that corner broke off. It seems weird to me that that is the only part of the bolt body that would be bare metal, but I also don't know how it could have broken off. So, is the bolt body supposed to look like that or is this something that will need to get warrantied?

I also sent them an email, but I've heard that they may not be the quickest to respond...

Thanks for the help guys.

Pics of an Affinity 3 Elite bolt. Having a difficult time seeing exactly what you are looking at but hope this helps. Seems a break or even a shear would have a less polished face..

Thanks again guys! I've reached out to Franchi and they just haven't gotten back to me yet. Guessing that I probably shouldn't shoot it till I hear something back from them.

I see what you're talking about with the worn area - I didn't notice it first go around; does seem to be angular instead of squared off. That is odd since that edge rides on the bolt carrier - not sure what it could be rubbing/wearing on. Be curious for a follow-up.
Hope you don't have to send the entire shotgun back and that they can just send you out a new bolt. Good luck.

Well I wound up bringing it in to the Scheels where I got it from to have them look it over and they wound up replacing it. So the worked out well for me. No hassle and they were very quick to help and make it right. The only minor knock against how this all worked out was that the only other black 20ga they had was the floor model so it has some minor handling marks. But all in all I give Scheels 99/100 on how they handled this, I'll happily spend my money with them again.
