Go to Kona, find a good dive boat (Jack’s Dive Locker was great 10-12 years ago), donn scuba, and enjoy!

Hilo is on the windward side of the lsland and Kona is on the leeward side. The Kona side has much "nicer" seas most of the time, but fishing out of Hilo when the weather allows can be good. An acquaintance of mine caught an 80# tuna, called ahi in Hawaii, out of Hilo in his kayak. Drug him all over the place.
