Scope tracking tests

I picked up a short action customs final scope level recently and finally got out to run a few scopes through their paces this afternoon. I used a box to bench precision “snipers hide” target that had 10 mils of vertical scaled for 100 yards.

Figured I’d share a few data points. Results were pretty good.

Bushnell LRHSi 4.5-18: 10 mils on the turret got 10.1 mils reticle adjustment. The slight error was consistent across the adjustment.
Bushnell LRTS 4.5-18: 10 mils on the turret got about 10.05 mils adjustment.
SWFA 3-9 #1: perfect
SWFA 3-9 #2: clicks in the first 4 Mils were a bit strong such that it had moved 4.1 mils in the first 40 clicks. But from 4 mils to 10 it slowly balanced out to where it was basically on the nuts at 10 mils.
Bushnell LRTS 3-12: by 10 mils it was just barely perceptibly strong on the adjustments. Maybe 10.02 mils? Call that one good.
Vortex PST g2 5-25: about the same as the 3-12 LRTS. Just bought this used for a 22. Was a bit of a **** getting clear and eye box seemed tight.
Bushnell DMRii 3.5-21: perfect as perfect can be.

I have a pile of those swfa scopes and as much as I dislike the lack of zerostop and the mush of the clicks....they are quite accurate and tougher than a hammer.

Thanks. Never owned a swaro scope. I bet a lot of the light hunting scopes could do ok on a test like this but I’d be worried about them continuing to do so over time.

I’ve posted this before, but I’ll add my small sample checks. I also static mount my optics using a SAC mount and check out to 16.5 mils on a target that I drafted.

Leupold MK5 3.6-18 = 100%
Vortex AMG 6-24 = 100%
(2) Vortex Gen 2 Razors = 100% (both)
Kahles k525i = 100%
Bushnell LRTS 3-12 = 101%
NF ATACR 4-16 = 100.5%
Bushnell LRHS 4.5-18 = 101%
Bushnell DMRII 3.5-21 = 100% (1st rev) and 101% (2nd rev)
SWFA 5-20 = 100% (1st rev) and 102% (2nd rev)

Every reticle subtended correctly as well.

Between your sample and mine it looks like the bushys are giving our bullets a touch better BC.. 😁

My sample size of one didn't fare well at all over time lol

I scrambled an AV Swarovski in under 50 rounds. In fairness it was an un braked 300rum at 7.5# all up.

It was also the worst customer service experience of my adult life excluding PTG.
