Should we use a cow decoy for archery rutting bulls?

Never used a decoy, and I have never needed one. Saw a guy last year, trying to carry a decoy, and his bow and pack, found it weird and kinda funny, seems like to much try and manage out in the hills. We have always done good without one. My opinion it's a waste of space!
