Show Low Arizona.

Anyone here from our hunt in the area of Taylor/Show Low Arizona? My parents just retired over that way and I would really appreciate the opportunity to know a bit more about the area.

Never really hunted around Showlow but I lived in Flag for a few years and when I visited Showlow I wished I had spent more time in the area.

I went elk hunting there with my dad probably 25 years ago. I’ve driven through several times since. Cool area, if I were going to live in AZ, it would probably come down to show lo or flagstaff/Williams but I can’t really imagine ever moving out of AK.

Thanks Figured it’s a long shot but wanted to check. Like much of north/central AZ tags are a tough draw. Maybe if a keep saving my points I can draw that early 3A/3C Tag before I inherit the place. Bears are an option but the population does not look too big.

I guess I will be kicking around small game on my trips until I know the area and options a bit more.

Never hunted or even been there but my wife has family there. They love it. Your close to New Mexico, so I would plan on trying for tags over there. There is pretty good upland in the area too.

I am always watching for jobs in that area. If anyone knows of any finance jobs in that area, please let me know. My experience is in grants but I can/am willing to learn another avenue.

I live in Alpine about 75 miles from Showlow. Grew up here also but havent lived here all my life but have had a cabin there and hunted here all my life. Retired from the rat race and started my own electrical contracting company so work part time. What questions do you have? Feel welcome to PM.

There’s a lot of varied good country around there. OnX or similar would be very useful while scouting/getting the lay of the land. There’s a fair amount of reservation land in the area...
