Show your Tikka ten round groups

Here's a 15 shot load development, barrel break in, ocw, seating depth test. I annealed and neck sized some once fired Hornady brass bought from Rokslide, loaded 5 at 40grains, 5 at 40.5, and 5 at 41 grains of H4350. I seated the 140 eldm bullet so that it fit in the magazine, sharpied it and made sure it wasn't touching the lands. Pulled the bolt and eyeball bore sighted. Shot 1 at 50 yds and moved SWFA 6x mil 12 clicks down and 5 clicks left. Moved target and shot 14 more at 100yds. 6.5cm Ballistic-X-Export-2023-01-30 09_35_14.096955.jpg

223 t3x w/ 3-9 SWFA. Got on paper, rough zero and then shot this 10 round group. 73 eldm factory ammo. No breaks other than to reload magazine.

Both are useful. ES accounts for 2 data points only. Means radius and radial SD takes into account every single shot. Mean radius typically should stabilize with fewer rounds. Depends on what you’re trying to do.

Precision Rifle Blog has a ‘statistics for shooters’ series that you might read over if you don’t have a background in it.

It seems mean radius tells a better “story” of a group vs ES.

Today's outing, new Tikka 6.5 PRC T3X Lite D-18. Quick break in and fouled the barrel, 2 - 5 shot groups cold bores included.

Tikka T3X with PBB 25 Creedmoor 20" x .75" fluted taperless barrel. 2 - 5 shot groups on different days.

Shots 10–20 on a new tikka as fast as I could single load and then get comfortable to take another. Mirage was brutal by the 8th shot. Barrel was already hot when I started. I need a supressor cover.

This is my first 10 round group with norma golden target. This is the only factory ammo I have so I’m interested to see what other bullet choices do with handloads. Readjusting my brain to what is “good” is a bit difficult but I had repeated hits at 6 and 700 after truing mv so I guess if I can hit a 12” plate at 700 with consistency the group size itself is relatively irrelevant.

More PVA prefit groups. Barrel dosnt mind ATips either.

@DangerRanger
Maybe you know this but when it comes to shooting groups at 100 it’s also very important to remove all parralax, dont just turn your dial to 100, actually confirm by checking. Very few scopes Iv used, especially higher power ones, have a true parralax free image set at 100 yards.

@Lawnboi Yes I was doing the head nod trying to perfect it. I may need to just have more time behind this setup, brand new everything and my first time behind an eh1 as well.

I may try to find some hornady match and see what that groups like
