I have always been a Thermarest guy. Also, check to make sure your pad is well insulated. You can have the best sleeping bag on the market but still freeze if your pad is not well insulated.

I have been let down twice now by inflatable sleeping pads on sheep hunts. I started carrying old faithful, Thermarest Z Lite SOL. Not as cushy for sure, but it ain't gonna deflate.

I have a Z Lite Classic that is about 20 years old now and that thing is pretty much indestructible. Its feather light too so you can strap it to your day pack and use it for glassing or laying down if you need to sit a wallow all day. I also use it as a 'doorstep' to my tent to sit and put my boots on etc.

For what? Backpacking? Car/truck basecamp? Temperatures you anticipate being in? So many factors as to the "best" depending on your situation., time of year, etc.
