Hey
I have a small Morkie that likes to come for hikes/hunts.
But he's to small for some terrain and can't last all day hiking.
I have a kuiu pack. I'm hoping to get some ideas what you would do .
I'd essentially like 2 bags, bottom for gear, a open top for the dog.
My best idea so far is a upside down waste bin in the bottom of my 3000, for the dog to stand on. Ave put gear in the bottom under it.

Not sure what your bags external access looks like but a wire rack like the light weight wire grilles with legs that would hold it off the bottom of your pack, then put some kind of pad on top of the wire rack.

one of my hunting pets is an odd combo of parts Jack Russell? Rescue dog so who really knows but his heart and bites off way more then his legs can chew. When he gets “cliffed/brushed out” I usually just grab him and carry him over/through the obstacle.
But moving to a frame pack I’m going to have to test having him ride on top of my pack after I get a gun bearer cause that’s my current favorite place to put my rifle when I need both hands. But a tactical dog holster is another option 🤷🏼‍♂️ BFBEFD89-882C-4F82-A9BB-A38C831AB8DA.jpeg7F5AD9BC-776B-400E-934C-394CADA81B2E.png
