The swfa 6x seems to have a lot of favorable opinions. Does anyone have through scope photos showing animal sized targets at different ranges? Only worried 6x would be limiting on deer sized game in the 400-500 yard range.

Treat it like a duplex you can dial.

This is a 3-9

Earlier this year I got a 3-9 for my sons rifle build. And I really like the scope. I might prefer it over my other leupold VX5s. The swfa Is super stout, very clear glass and I like the top turret.

I actually tripped and fell hard on the ground this past rifle season with it. I hit the ground, the gun hit the ground. It was not graceful at all. I was worried about the scope. I ended up going to a near by range and checked zero. It was dead on.

I don't have pictures or have hunted with my 6X. But I really like the FOV compared to my 10X. When I had it off the rifle I was able to see/ identify crows at just past a mile. At the range I easily hit steel out to 800 yards on my 308 Win. at the 550 line I hit our down scaled steel ram and a 5" rock. I've considered taking my 4.5-14X50mm on my 7mm RM and putting the 6X on there. But ultimately it may end up on my AR. I don't have any concerns hunting with mine.

No worries at all. I was using the reticle to "measure" parts of a stock tank at a laser-ranged 527 yards 15-20 minutes after sunset a couple days ago. As a point of reference, the vertical stadia covers well less than an upright t post at that distance.

Best regards,
John

We shot a couple doe antelope between 6-700 yards and they were about the limit for a fixed 6 for me.
But it was also hot in the 90s and just awfully poor shooting conditions.
Deer from 0-600 should be a non issue

Have you seen this? Good photo of the reticle here and discussion of using it for practical shooting.

This one has even more and some closer up images of the stadia.

Jack O'Connor said he never saw a big game shot a 4X scope couldn't handle; he and Finn Aagaard both agreed a 2.5X scope would handle most big game shots. My primary big game rifle wears a 2.75X scope and has never failed me.
