Does anybody use a hunting tarp? I’ve had times where a lightweight tarp would’ve been awesome but then hunts where it would’ve just been extra weight. I’m looking at the caribou gear hunters tarp to use as a rain tarp and a meat tarp but wasn’t sure if it was worth the $60

I’m fine paying for a quality product as long as it’s worth the money. I just wasn’t sure if having a tarp in the pack was worth it but it sounds like for as versatile as it is a good item to carry.

I use mine regularly. Rain shelter/Sun shelter. I keep it in my pack most of the time. I used it for laying quarters on when I was breaking down an elk on my own. Its not too heavy and I keep it in a pocket on the outside of my bag, for easy access. With a bivy, I used it as my main shelter a few times when the weather was forecasted to be pretty mild.
