Full bill HERE
THIS IS WHAT ITS COME TO; Raul Grijalva put in plugs for Lion King the movie in his opening remarks. (can anyone say, clueless?)
SCI joined with more than thirty other hunting and conservation groups in a letter to the committee opposing H.R. 2245. We should leave the decisions on African wildlife management to the respective African authorities in range countries instead of pretending that politicians in Washington know better.”
At the hearings were representatives from Zimbabwe that shot the above American politician down;
Ms. Patience Gandiwa, the Executive Technical Advisor to Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, QUESTIONED what would happen if the CAMPFIRE Program and similar programs ceased in Zimbabwe? Campfire program link
She began by noting "The government of Zimbabwe is deeply concerned about this bill which has misleading ideas from those who are presumably doing conservation in theory...NOT in practice." she went on a rant against the Bill and finished with, "the Cecil act represents another form of violating outr human rights, dragging our people who are bearing the brunt of living with this dangerous wildlife extreme poverty as they have limited reparations. "
She refuted the very name of the bill, " for the local people, it was just another ordinary lion not famous at all, it is not in our culture to give wildlife nmaeanyway and personify them like human beings"
THE GOOD GUYS WON THIS ONE.
IMO, We should remember the folks underlined above involved in pushing this total waste of time and money come election time...
