Interested in any help getting a blacktail in western WA. Likely with bow in tight property lined timber lands. Should I even try using calls?

Am always curious about the guys that hunt in small areas, or tight against a property line. Whats the plan for when it hops the fence after the shot?

First- try to have an agreement with your neighbors. Respect property lines, and contact them/recieve permission before entering their property to retrieve your deer. Be prepared for the possibility that they might say no or to wait for them to arrive and escort/assist your tracking.

Second, focus on your shots. Take high percentage shots that are likely to put the animal on the ground in the least amount of time. With a rifle, this might mean losing some venison (shoulder shot). With a bow, it might mean keeping your shots close.

Things happen, and there are very few perfect scenarios. Do the best you can to increase the odds of dropping the animal on the property you hunt. Be prepared for the possibility that a property owner may not want you to disturb their land and respect their wishes.
