I’m wondering if anyone has a tikka t3x 300wsm they’d want to part with? I’ve been looking for a few months now and haven’t come across any. I’d like a lightly used one but wouldn’t be opposed to new if anyone knows of any sales.

Thanks!

Same here. I am going to send my newer Savage M110 Long Range Hunter in 300 WSM back to Savage to hopefully fix the “Adjustable” brake that isn’t so adjustable and I thought about selling it and using the money to buy the original rifle that I wanted. A LEFT hand Tikka T3X in 300 WSM in either blued or stainless. But I have scoured the inter web and no luck 🍀 everything is out of stock or marked up $200-$300.
I can find a right hand SuperLite in green and other cartridge right hand rifles but not the one I want.

Keep and eye on this. I’d go this route and just build it the way you want it. Carbon barrel, carbon stock. Make it nice. Mine is almost finished, just waiting on the barrel.

That’s pretty awesome 👏. Once I have the budget for it, I would love to “build” or piece together my own semi custom rifle. It’s been a dream of mine for a while. I just enjoy anything creative and functional.
I checked all those actions and they didn’t have a left hand short action magnum action for the 300 WSM.
Great work btw. Sweet looking rifle.

Just an FYI, you don’t need a short action wsm action. All magnum actions are exactly the same. Only difference is the bolt stop and the magazine. So a long action magnum works just fine. You can either replace the bolt stop for $20 or leave it long action, mine is long action so I can load longer.

Oh I see. That makes sense. I know that some like those longer Bergers, Barnes, Hammers or even the 200 grain or 212 ELDX in their 300 WSM or WMs
I was looking at used donor rifles, mostly in 308, 6.5 CM, but I probably could be fine with a 30-06 length action then?

All actions are the same length.
The only difference is the bolt stop and the bolt face. If you want to run a WSM, you need a magnum bolt face. So any donor that is currently a magnum will work. For instance my receiver was sold as a Winchester magnum receiver but I can run any cartridge with a magnum bolt face. Win mag, 6.5 prc, 6.8 western and so on. I have 6.5 prc, wsm, and 6.8 western barrels inbound for that action so I can change cartridge based on needs with a simple barrel swap. To be honest though the WSM will pretty much do everything, it’s a great cartridge.

Thanks 🙏 for the insight. Now I can broaden my search to various magnum cartridges like the 7 RM, 338 WM, 300 WM, etc… I do like my 300 WSM it shoots well at 100 yards, I just haven’t go to stretch it’s legs. My Dad and two brothers have the standard 300 WM so I wanted something a little different at least.

I only need the action as well. I have a carbon fiber barrel and stock on the way already! I’ll keep watch for any magnum action, thanks for the tip!
