I could see how the tailgate could be an issue if wheeler sat in dead middle of tailgate for a long trip with large bumps maybe. I had to fix the handle and once you remove the plastic over there isn’t much to the tailgate that the wheeler would sit on. With that being said I have had no issues at all. MPG do suck but man do I like my truck. Bought in 2009 and besides regular service the only repair I have had to do is brakes which is normal for mileage.
