Wasatch Limited Entry Elk - Roadless Areas

I drew a wasatch limited entry archery elk hunt this year, i have hunted this unit for deer a few times and have ran into some nice bulls. After doing a bunch of e scouting I noticed there aren’t many areas that get you a mile or so off of a road in all directions. My question is does it matter in this unit in particular to get miles off of a road? What should I be looking for to find the elk in this unit? I prefer to get miles away from everything and hunt the steep thick stuff but it seems like it will be difficult to do that here.

Look for private land, get as close as you can

If there aren't places for you to get miles off the road then there aren't places for the elk to get miles from the road. You pretty much answered your own question.
