What caliber you using this year?

Sticking with a slow twist 22-250 so I can run light bullets. Tournaments pay by the pound so cant be blowing stuff in half haha... for hogs combo of .223 with TMK's and 6creed with 108's

6 arc with 58gr Vmax - 3300 fps out of my 16.5" proof (bolt action). Stupid accurate and the few I've shot with it so far were DRT with no exit.

338 win mag or 17 hmr

I dont go after them much but when I do, I like bringing the big gun. The more urban ones get the 17.

What you running this year for coyotes specifically?
I’m switching from 22 arc to 22 creedmoor I think
The 22-250 is still a great all around big and small varmint cartridge. The 50 packs of ammo are nice if time is short and there are a ton of little varmints. Everyone should have a 22-250 to play with. However, heavy bullets are interesting and I picked up a 22 creed thinking it won’t get used much. If someone is saving pelts heavy bullets aren’t an advantage. I’ve become more protective of the creed, not wanting to loan it and to put extra wear on the bore, and if long range shots are possible it’s the one I reach for. I’d do the same thing if it were a fast twist 22-250 and the 22-250 AI is a ballistic twin of the creed.

I don’t really like Hornady or the entire existence of the Creedmoors, but they are the easy way to get a fast twist. Ordering the Shilen barrel from Midway had it here in two days ready to screw on for under $400. The same barrel could be ordered as a fast twist 22-250 or AI directly from Shilen, but the wait times nowadays involve a lot of uncertainty.
