2012 Toyota Tacoma. 4x4 Base Access cab with 4 cylinder. I’m looking at picking up a new Tacoma and don’t want to trade my current Tacoma in. Prices in my area are all over the board, with no consistency . KBB has average good price around 7-9k. The truck itself is in decent shape, no dents, no faded paint. Has 200k miles.
If it’s worth KBB, I’m fine with that, but I’d hate to leave money on the table when I go to sale it.

Look at different automotive sale sites and get a feel for it but know those will be dealer prices and have been marked up several thousand $ from actual value
Selling a vehicle as a individual should never match dealer prices if you really want to sell it

Look in the classifieds and see what they are selling for in your area. That should give a good idea.

Work recently tried to sell a 4-Runner at book value and didn't get a single call. Traded it in.
That's just it. I've been watching CL and marketplace and there is no rhyme or reason to what they are priced at. You're seeing mid 00's models for 15k, a few years old basically at msrp and 90's models clear up to 10k. I know asking and getting are two very different things. That's good to know about the 4-Runner.

we sold a 2007 toyota sequoia this year for $10k with 185,000 miles.... id imagine you should be able to get more than $7-8K with these ridiculous prices anymore.

I had a 1981 Toyota that I bought in 82 for 4300.00 I just sold it last summer after putting 275,000 miles on it for 3800.00. The new ones are way out of my range ! I can't tell you what yours is worth, but it's crazy what new or used cost anymore.
