Which Hammer Load for Elk

I picked up a 338 RUM and developed two quality loads for the rifle. I currently plan on bringing this 9lb rifle as my primary on my elk hunt next month.

As of now, I plan on using the more accurate load (260 HH). But does anyone see benefits of using the 213HH option other than having a more temp stable powder?

Last year I took my bull with 181 gr mono out of my 300 WM, so both of these are a big step up.

Both bullets are going to be extremely effective. What is your realistic hunting range? If it's sub 400, with the occasional opportunity out to 700 then I'd take the speed of the 213HH. If you are regularly killing animals in the 600-700 yard range, then the the 260. The temp stability of the powder all comes down to the temp range you will be hunting in vs the temp range during your load development. Personally I only run temp stable loads for hunting.

Shoot the one you're most accurate/comfortable behind. People are killing elk with 6.5 CMs at 700 yds. I doubt the elk will know which .338 rum bullet you hit them with.

I agree 100%. I’ve killed a fair amount of elk with a 270 and 130 grain bullets at 300-500 yards.
