WY preference points

I’ve tried but can’t find the answer to this specific WY goat preference point question. If I draw my second choice unit I know I don’t burn points, but am I still able to buy a point that year or no?

You shouldn’t have to buy one, you will earn one from not drawing your first choice.

You can buy a point in the point only period if you didn't draw 1st choice on full price licenses. They removed the option to pay for the point when applying for the draw years ago.

Most states issue you a point big unsuccessful during the draw. Wyoming has a separate preference point time line from July-October 31st to buy points for each species.
