What are you guys/gals getting for a resting heart rate. I went to a walk-in clinic on Tuesday for something unrelated to the subject (impacted wax ball blocking my hearing.......nasty), and was questioned about my heart rate because it was so low (42).
Back story on me:
35 yrs old
Quit...
It was mentioned in the old thread that we needed to start a 2019 thread, so I'll see if we can get this going.
Last year I started running trails with my eye on completing my first ultra (a 50 mile race through a state park here in IN, the Jackson Co 50/50). I did not finish the race...
I'm sitting at work and don't have my frame with me, but the question came up on how wide the frame actually is. Anyone know off the top of their head, or is anyone in a position they could measure it?
Thanks in advance.
I do leatherwork as a hobby that i can make a little money at on the side, so Im always looking for some fun way to practice the different disciplines involved. When i got a couple Kifaru stickers with an order, I thought it would make a nice carving on a piece of scrap. I liked how it turned...
Anyone have experience with this? I found one for $109 in a local Gander Mountain and was intrigued. Synthetic bag at 4.15#. I know I can get something better, but the funds just aren't there this year.
Getting rid of a few things I don't use anymore. PP preferred, price is shipped within CONUS.
TNF Rock 32 - $150.00 - Good 2 person, 3 season tent. Only used it a few times before we got a mastiff, now the three of us won't fit in it. No holes/tears, just a little dusty. Includes everything...
So I've done a lot of research short of calling DOW so far, and if their info pans out I'll be heading to Colorado next September for my first backpack archery elk hunt. Of course, I'm not looking for anyone's spot or anything like that, just wanting some info on water, pressure, etc. I'm from...
Anyone know how to get one of these? I looked for a while for an uncut Longhunter so I could use it as a daypack when I predator hunt or just go on quick hikes, but the one I found didn't have the shoulder strap. I've been using a piece of webbing, but would really like to find an original...
Good pack, just don't use it anymore. Military Green (similar to Ranger Green). Older model w/o Intek II frame, just a frame sheet.
Had a single retrofit aluminum stay down the middle of the frame sheet, so it has some popped stitches down the middle of the back panel, will update with some...
Is the roll top version larger? I'm looking for one for underneath the wings of my Nomad, and the dimensions on the website look nearly as big as the large original pod I already have.
Wondering if anyone runs these together. I have been looking for something to keep my hands warm (I'm not a fan of heavy gloves), and work with my pack since most of my jackets have the lower hand warmer pockets that don't work with a pack belt. I saw that the discontinued Kifaru handwarmer...
First off, I know there are better options out there for weight, compressability, etc, but this has been bugging me because I can't find an answer. Everyone knows how heavy the overall system is, but the patrol bag on its own doesn't seem too bad for a synthetic 30*-40* bag at it's size. 2lbs...
So last week, a few buddies and I were talking about our first venture out west, planned for next year. Besides the normal problems for a group of first-timers (where to hunt, will there be elk, how crowded will it be, what temp, etc.), we got on the discussion of how to get meat home to IN...
I'm figuring on going with a MultiCam exterior fabric, but a little torn on what weight fabric. I want to be able to use it in the field as well as in my shelter, and will probably make it into a quilt-type setup. My original thought was 1.9oz DWR coated nylon for the exterior with 1.1oz...
Worth it or not? I was looking at them to boost the rating on my 30* bag but wanted to ask around before pulling the trigger. The one I was looking at was the +25* model. No clue if their numbers are accurate, but if so that would make total weight for that setup around 3lbs 6oz for a 5* bag...
Heading to Colorado next year for my first elk hunt and getting my gear lined out. Planning on a 2nd rifle hunt at the end of Oct. What temps should I expect and what bag rating should I need? I looked at historical data and it seemed that around 11000ft elevation the temp ranged from 60 down...
Wondering about this. All things being equal, how much of a temperature rating boost will a sleep system get by putting your bag and pad inside a bivy? Obviously, I'm not talking about full netting bug bivys, more like an MSR E Bivy or something similar.
I recently picked up a Mountainsmith Mountain Shelter LT that had a stove jack installed so I could cost effectively dip my toes in the floorless realm. I've set it up a few times now and really like it, but my inner tinkerer just can't let something go.
My thought is, if I sew on 25" of...
