    List of DIY Gear

I made my bad weather jacket out of a 3 layer gortex stretch material I found. Sized it out to give extra room in the shoulders and length in the waist for bow hunting

    My DIY Cargo Panel!!

If you look at the first pictures whats happening there is that he has it full length, then folds it in half to finish it. So its two ply in that way. The edges use grossgrain if you google up milspec grossgrain you'll find a number of suppliers.

Old Kenmore or new Brother xr9500?

If the old kenmore is anything like the one I have it will bust through anything you put under it without issue. I currently have 2 machines and old kenmore and and old Pfaff. The kenmore is cam driven and i don't have the cams - so no zigzag. The kenmore is in a cabinet. So I use that one...

    Long Draw Recurve

With full length Easton axis 400 spine arrows the field tip point wasn't visible from the back side of the riser at full draw.

    Long Draw Recurve

The black eagle vintage were the only ones long enough to work on the Buffallo that I could find. Never heard of Arrow Dynamics. I just looked them up and everything advertised is 32". Ended up with full length 350's and front loaded the tip weight to spine in properly. Really touchy arrow to...

    Long Draw Recurve

I have a 62" Buffalo and and I have a 32 1/4" draw. Its not ideal and I'm going to experiment with long limbs this winter but it killed an elk and a whitetail. The harder part is finding arrows that accommodate that length safely.

what the big advantage of having your rangefinder in the binos?

I personally would not want to use range finding bino's for an archery hunt. Binos are a bit ackward to one hand while crouched and holding my bow. My range finder I can do with one hand with my tab still on my hand (I use recurve, but I would assume most releases would be OK too). Also...

    breathable inserts

I secured some really nice fleece lined gortex softshell material. I'm going to make a hunting jacket out of it but want to add some breather panels under the arm pit area as I think it will be way too stuffy otherwise. Any suggestions on a good material to use for that? The arms on the...

    Blind bale shooting....do it!

I have the Rigid formaster and if you take it on/off a few times it really aggitates the heck of of the skin. The rubberband just drags along your arm. The astra you can just unclip yourself to take a break/actually shoot for a bit.

    Jumping ship on quilts?

Your quilt doesn't have anything on it to help secure it? Mine has a series of small loops on the sides, I use some really thin shock cord with an adjustable knot to keep it around the pad. Snug as a bug once i got that fixed. Before that I had the same issue.

    Blind bale shooting....do it!

Very much so. When I competed Oly style it would do at least 50 arrows almost every evening except high arrow count days. Nothing improved and maintains form quite like it. I'm not sure how shooting without worrying about accuracy "complicates" things. If anything it removes complications...

    Best Frame for Skinny Guys

Hill People Gear Belt in 27"+ should be perfect for you, you can play with the padding layers to get the perfect fit. I ended up swapping to their belt at the last minute using a 33+ with full padding and my pack became rock solid on my slender hips.

    Unbreakable Runner

I wouldn't take anything about Ryan "DNF" Hall's training and think it applies to anyone smart enough to listen to a coach. I have no doubt Ryan neglected many aspects of his training which is exactly why he had 2 good performances and a whole lot of failures.
