Subzero quilt?

I think two quilts are far better than one. I'd layer two. If I had my druthers, I'd have a down quilt next to my skin and a synthetic quilt on top of that. My moisture whould pass through the down quilt and directly meet the frigid weather in the synthetic quilt above. If that were to cause freezing, it would happen in the synthetic quilt whose insulating qualities wet (or frozen) are better than those of down.

Bruce, I don't know if you ever solved this problem but I just saw this posted on Loco Libre's Instagram and thought of this thread. They make quality gear but there is usually a pretty long lead time.

One night my 0* EE quilt wasn't enough, threw my Sitka Kelvin pants and jacket on top of it and was fine. Now carry a Woobie or Doobie with me if not packing the Kelvins. Problem solved but I am gonna consider the Loco quilt.
