2013 Alberta Spring Bear

Finally got out for a spring bear hunt last weekend. My dad, stepson and my daughter's boyfriend were all able to go. On the first night we saw two bears but were unable to connect, on the second evening we saw five bears and my stepson was able to down his first black bear.(I offered to clip the tongue but he said he wanted it in the picture.)

Congrats on the bear. Looks like you had a pretty solid camp! I find a great camp set up is always best when brining out first timers, it keeps them coming back for more.

We tend to live pretty good at times, actually he has been hunting with me since he was a little fella, mostly deer and grouse. This was only his second year bear hunting so it was fun to be there when he got it done. The young fella dating my daughter is new to hunting and really seemed to enjoy himself and was excited with all the action. Hopefully next year we can help him get it done.
